David Banks vs. David Morrissey - Skegness, England
David Ward (81) is a Jehovah’s Witness. He doesn’t smoke and he doesn’t drink. He lives alone in Skegness and longs to be reunited with his mother, who passed away many years ago.
His neighbour, however - also called David - couldn’t be more different. David Morrissey (27) enjoys a smoke, loves a loud rave, and can often be seen through his lounge window dancing wildly after a few drinks.
The two men have absolutely no time for each other. In fact, I’d go as far as to say they despise one another, arguing over the most trivial matters, often quite heatedly. They are worlds apart, clashing on almost every level. Each to their own, I suppose.
I find them both interesting in their own way. I don’t judge - and I often seem to end up acting as the mediator. The three images above were selected for Clash, part of the Lacuna Arts Festival in Lanzarote, held on the island in 2022.
UPDATE:
David Morrissey, 27, of Somersby Grove, Skegness, was arrested in connection with a robbery at the Spar shop in Skegness on Monday, March 6.
