Day Tripper

Location: East of England    Date: 2019

Day Tripper . . .

DAY TRIPPER - John and Nicki invite you to come out for the day to explore art.

Locations: Hull, York, Lincoln and Nottingham

We have been commissioned by Magna Vitae to organise these trips. Magna Vitae organises SO Festival and want to find new ways of offering enjoyable and inspiring experiences to people living on the Lincolnshire coast.

We’re great believers in the idea that ‘a change is as good as a rest’ for recharging batteries.

SO Why??

SO Festival aims to make life more interesting by bringing out-of-the-ordinary experiences to people on the coast. It’s supposed to be fun, thought-provoking and different to your everyday life.

Not everyone gets to participate in the festival. Maybe because they’re not bothered, too busy, too stressed, don’t really get what the fuss is about? Also, the festival comes and goes in a flash.

So, we want to start making better contact with people living on the coast. To understand a bit more about what life looks like, what could be better and what you’d like to have done about it. This information will help us develop plans for future projects and a more inclusive SO Festival. Our Day Trips are a first step towards this.

We thank you for coming on board and hope you have a good day out. If you want to know more about us and what we’re doing then please just ask. We’re all yours for the day!

About your host

Hi, I’m John

I’ve lived in Skegness for 28 years and have three grown up girls, all ginger! :)

As a teenager and into my early twenties, I suffered from acute depression that left me hospitalised, and it was during this time that I discovered art as a therapy to help cope and reduce my anxieties.

Since those dark days, I’ve travelled extensively across Europe and beyond armed with a camera recording the world through my eyes.

I’ve had my ups and downs over the years and life has taught me a great many things. Sharing those experiences through art is a passion of mine and one that keeps me on the straight and narrow.

Kindly supported by Arts Council, England & Magna Vitae.
