Grounded
> The Rhythm Beneath Our Feet
This body of work is rooted in the quiet language of the shoreline, where sea meets sand and time is momentarily held in patterns shaped by the ebb and flow. Constantly shifting and never repeating, these transient formations become a record of movement, absence and return.
Each photograph is an act of sustained observation, a deliberate slowing down in order to engage with subtle rhythms that often go unnoticed. Every image captures a singular moment, a fleeting convergence of tide, wind and light, briefly held before it disappears and cannot be replicated. In this way, the work resists permanence and instead embraces impermanence as both subject and method.
Focusing on the surface rather than the horizon, the images draw attention to the intimate and overlooked. Lines carved by retreating water, wind shaped ripples and scattered fragments form a visual language that speaks quietly but insistently. These details become the foundation of Grounded, shifting the gaze from spectacle to presence.
The title Grounded operates on both a physical and psychological level. It reflects a direct engagement with the earth, with texture, surface and contact, while also suggesting a state of stillness and attentiveness. In a culture defined by speed and distraction, this work proposes a return to something slower and more deliberate, a way of seeing that is anchored, reflective and connected, where even the most fleeting moments can be held, if only for a time.
