My childhood was constantly on the move. London, Manchester, Cyprus and eventually a remote farmhouse in Lincolnshire. We moved so often that I barely went to school, had little chance to make friends, and never knew where I might end up next.
Then, a chance encounter my father had on a train brought us to Skegness during the hot summer of 1976. For the first time in my life, I found somewhere I could stay and finally put down roots.
