When I look back at my childhood, it feels like a life lived in black and white. Bullying, illness and difficult years made the world seem small and dark. But on trips to the Skegness coast, I found something I rarely knew anywhere else: peace.
Years later, the place I once came to on holiday became my home, and slowly the colour began to return to my life, and with it, hope. The sea became my refuge, and Skegness became the place where I learned how to be myself again.
