I was seven years old when the war began, and some memories have never left me: the roar of the aircraft, the fear, and the relief when peace finally came.
Born near Skegness, I later made the town my home and devoted my life to teaching generations of its children. Today, at ninety-four, I look back on a long life shaped by war and peace, love, community and, above all, kindness.
